We do not work with powder-coated metal, composite wicker, or factory-produced materials. Our craftsmen, most with over 30 years of experience, source every log from sustainably managed Northern forests and finish each piece entirely by hand. The result is outdoor farmhouse furniture built to perform for decades, not seasons.

Larger Diameter Logs:  Greater wood mass at every joint produces stronger frames and a more substantial build than factory-produced alternatives.

Mortise-and-Tenon Joinery: Every frame is locked together without brackets or adhesive. This method has defined our construction standard since 1975.

Marine-Grade Hardware: Stainless steel fasteners, 25% thicker than industry standard, engineered to hold through Michigan winters, humid summers, and decades of outdoor use.

Hand-Peeled or Hand-Sanded Finish: Every surface is finished by hand and inspected for rough spots and imperfections before leaving our workshop.

No Sealing Required: Northern white cedar's natural oils provide inherent resistance to rot, moisture, and insects. Applying a sealer introduces a maintenance cycle with no structural benefit and no improvement to the wood's long-term performance.

Northern white cedar performs outdoors without chemical treatment. Its natural oils resist rot, decay, and insect damage. The wood holds dimensional stability through freeze-thaw cycles and high-humidity summers without warping or joint failure.

Over time, untreated cedar weathers to a refined silver-gray patina. Many of our customers prefer this aged finish over the original warm tone. Both are natural outcomes of quality material performing as intended.

One transparency worth noting before purchase: surface checking can occur on cedar as the wood releases moisture through its growth rings. These shallow surface marks are a natural characteristic of seasoning wood, not a structural concern. They have no effect on the integrity or lifespan of the piece. Cedar Creek porch swings are available in four-foot, five-foot, and six-foot sizes with a rated load capacity of 800 pounds. Each swing mounts to standard porch beams or pairs with a freestanding A-frame for placement anywhere on a property. Our custom-made U-bolt and 2-pivot hardware system meets ASTM F1148-19 safety certification.
